Abundant resident in scrub and woodlands.

Identification

Very small, dark brown with a short, cocked tail. It usually moves about in low vegetation in search of food and can be taken for a mouse. Reddish-brown upperparts with barring on tail and wings, buffish-brown underparts and cream-buff supercilium. Short wings and fast, direct flight that resembles a bumblebee.

Movements

Sedentary, although some birds may arrive from Central and Northern Europe, such as one bird ringed in Sweden on 1.06.91 and controlled in the province of Cadiz on 20.09.91, 3,150 Km. away. Cinclidae Mirlo Acuático ad. Troglodytidae Chochín
