Presence in the Strait
Accidental. Three records of single birds: on Gibraltar on 7.03.84, at Aciscar (Tarifa) on 21.04.85, and one female ringed at Ceuta on 11.11.92.
Identification
Seabird small, dark and lonely. Very characteristic in flight, their long legs protruding from his tail and touching the water as if brincase or bounce on water. Very up close and in flight also, you can see the webbed yellow. It differs from the European Storm-Petrel clear his band greater coverts and absence of the white stripe in the center of the bottom of the wing. From Storm-Petrel Boreal by broad and rounded wings that keep rather straight instead of bent and tail with square end.
Movements
It comes from the South Seas. In the North Atlantic appear from late spring to early autumn.
