- Which cookies there are
- Bioestrecho sets no advertising or social-media cookies and loads no third-party trackers. The only non-essential cookie is analytics (Google Analytics 4), and it is set only if you accept it in the notice at the bottom left. If you decline, nothing is loaded and no identifier is stored.
- Analytics
- With your consent, Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies "_ga" and "_ga_…", which assign a random identifier to the browser for up to two years to count visits and page views. The IP address is anonymised. The controller of that data is Google Ireland Ltd.; its policy is at policies.google.com. You can withdraw consent at any time from "Cookie preferences" in the footer of every page: the cookies are deleted and nothing is loaded again.
- Your decision
- What you decide in the notice is kept in your browser's local storage ("bioestrecho.consentimiento") for twelve months, with the date. After that, or if you clear the site data, you are asked again.
- Local storage
- The portal keeps two things in your browser's local storage, and only if you switch them on: the list of species and places you mark as seen ("My list") and the field-mode preference. These are technical data needed to provide the feature you asked for; they never leave the browser and you can delete them at any time from the portal or your browser settings.
- Technical cookies
- The server may use a strictly necessary cookie for the site to work (for instance, to remember the language or keep a session once the sightings service exists). Under article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI it requires no consent.
- Changes
- Should the portal add any service that uses non-essential cookies, this page will be updated and consent requested before they are set.
