Common resident of rocky areas and forests (>36 pairs).
Identification
The largest of the nocturnal birds of prey. Large head with prominent tufts and large orange eyes. Dark brown plumage above with blackish vermiculations and short barred tail; underparts buff-brown with dark streaks. Deep, guttural call «uuu-ju».
Movements
