Accidental. Three records of single birds at Gibraltar on 22.11.66, 4.12.78 and April ‘87.

Identification

Rock-climbing bird, typical of sheer cliff faces. Similar in size to an Alpine Accentor. Red, black and white wing pattern on its rounded, broad wings. Long, thin and slightly decurved bill; short and square tail. Butterfly-type flight. It breeds on the limestone cliffs in the Pyrenees and Picos de Europa. CERTHIIDAE
