Presence in the Strait

Rare resident located along the Calamocarro stream (Ceuta); breeding confirmed. One record for the Peninsular on 15.07.95 between Puerto Llano and Facinas (Tarifa).

Identification

Unmistakable. Shy and elusive, often on ground or low in bushes for long periods. In flight, long, graduated tail, broadly tipped white and rusty-brown wings. Juveniles have dusky-horn bills with duller crown and eye-stripe. Oriolidae Oropéndola Europea Laniidae Chagra del Senegal
