Presence in the Strait

Scarce migrant of coastal and marshy areas. An occasional winter visitor.

Identification

Similar to a Redshank but slighter with a shorter, slightly curved bill. Leg colours vary from orange to greenish and mantle feathers raised with the wind or when feeding. In flight, white wing bars and rump panels can be seen.

Movements

Peaks during April and September.
