Presence in the Strait

Localized population found at Sotogrande and La Paloma (Manilva). Breeding unconfirmed.

Identification

Similar to a Ring-necked (Rose-ringed) Parakeet but with black forehead, crown, throat and bill, red thighs and bluish primaries and tail. Originates from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. Cotorra Argentina Psittacidae Cotorra de Kramer ad. ad. Cotorra Argentina Aratinga Ñanday
