Resident. Gregarious birds often seen in open fields and reproduced in rocky areas. Present at the Sierra de Retin from june 2004, through a joint research project of the Ministry of Environment and Zoobotánico Jerez, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of different methods of release of individuals from captivity. Was reproduced in the Tajo de Barbate in the year 2008 and now they do in Barca de Vejer.
Identification
Plumage with bluish, green or purple like the Morito with which it can be confusing. Head and Throat devoid of feathers, except in adulthood sporting a tuft of long feathers on the head. It has a curved beak and red.
